The Attorney General has advised the Inspector General of Police to take legal action under the penal code against Parliamentarian Vijayakala Maheswaran, over a recent statement on the LTTE.
When inquired by NewsRadio Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya said the Attorney General’s Department made the recommendation following the deliberation of a statement made by MP Maheswaran over the resurgence of the LTTE.
Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya said indictments will be filed on MP Maheswaran before the Court of Appeal.
The Attorney General said Speaker of House Karu Jayasuriya will also be informed in this regard shortly.
