A cargo ship sailing under the flag of Liberia, ‘MV Eurosun’ carrying cement to Trincomalee has run aground on Little Basses Reef on the south-east coast of the island, said Navy Spokesperson
The reef is located 14km off the coast of Yala National Park.
Sri Lanka Navy has dispatched two crafts to the location in order to assess the situation.
