Consignment of AstraZeneca jabs to Sri Lanka from Japan

A consignment consisting of 728,460 doses of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine will arrive in Sri Lanka from Japan on Saturday (31 July) evening.

The consignment comes under the COVAX facility of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

A similar amount will be received next Saturday.

The initial priority will be given to those who had already received the first dose, State Minister Professor stated.

The remainder will be used to administer the 1st dose of the jab to the residents in Kegalle, the State Ministry of Production, Supply, and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals said.
