Japan donates Rs. 300 mn worth equipment to Sri Lanka’s Colombo international airport

The Japan International Cooperation System (JICS) under its economic and social development fund program, has donated airport machinery and equipment worth Rs. 300 million to Sri Lanka’s Bandaranaike International Airport.

Japanese Ambassador, Kenichi Suganuma Monday (14th May) has symbolically handed over the consignment including vehicles and other technical equipment to the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Services Nimal Siripala De Silva.

The consignment includes five service vehicles, two ambulances, five, Air control room VHF systems, four communicable disease detection machines, and eight liquid explosive detection machines.

Deputy Minister Ashok Abeysinghe also participated in this occasion.
