The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has reached out to the Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith on the 3rd anniversary of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks, marked today.
In a letter addressed to the Cardinal, the opposition party has given assurance and a pledge of truth and justice for the victims of the Easter attacks.
The party pledged that a future ‘Samagi Jana Balawegaya’ Government will implement the recommendations made by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry in full.
The SJB said it also assures the public of complete access to previously classified information pertaining to the attacks.
The part further promised a completely transparent investigation with a public, televised hearings, and testimonies in order to maintain the highest standards of investigative ethics.
