Former Minister S.B. Dissanayake says that a request was made from President Maithripala Sirisena to summon the SLFP central committee (CC) as soon as possible in order to make a final decision on whether or not to continue with the national government.
Dissanayake told the media after resigning from his portfolio that a final decision on whether the SLFP should remain in the unity government will be taken at the CC, which will be convened after the President returns to the country after an official overseas tour next week.
