Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena says he is ready to take the country forward through a clean political movement, for which the people rally around.
The President made this pledge addressing the final election rally in Kaduruwela held on Wednesday to ensure the victory of the candidates of the United Peoples freedom Alliance (UPFA) led by Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).
Addressing the rally in midst of well wishes of people, President Sirisena said that service for people will be led by wining each and every challenge protecting the country with utmost self-sacrifice.
He assured that the unity and national security of the motherland will be secured.
The President emphasized that he is not ready to work with the corrupted politicians and further said that he will be committed to build the country while creating a clean political movement as he never allowed room for fraud, corruption and bribery in his political journey.
The President, with regret, recalled the criticisms made by the former President about the development process of the district, when he visited Polonnaruwa recently, and said that at present the process to make new transformations in the development activities of the villages as well as in the towns have been implemented broadly.
“Today, the people rally around to build a clean political movement with that change,” he said while extending an invitation to the former President as well as to all who leveled criticisms to experience that change by visiting each village and town.
