An individual was arrested for obstructing the duties of Public Health Inspectors (PHI) in Mahiyanganaya on Sunday (27 Jun).
Following a monk from the Gemunupura area in Mahiyanganaya testing positive for Covid-19, the PHI officers had commeneced tracing direct contacts of the infected.
The suspect had reportedly tried to prevent the PHI officers from tracing the monk’s contacts.
The suspect was arrested and produced before the Mahiyanganaya Court on Sunday (26) and was remanded till 09 July.
