This is not really news, but President Wickremesinghe returned to the island following his 14th and 15th visit abroad since becoming the President,

Parliament sittings were postponed due to a meeting of Party Leaders,

The debate on the Online Safety Bill has commenced in parliament,

This was followed by a vote to debate or not the OSB with 83 voting for a debate and 50 votes against,

21-Israeli soldiers have been killed in the ‘deadliest’ day for Israel since the war began and where the death toll in the Gaza has risen to over 25,000 in a little over 100 days,

The Dead in the Gaza has gone over the 25,000 mark – thousands of chikldren have also been killed, 

A Buddhist monk has been shot at a temple in the Gampaha District,  The Police say, ‘await further details’,

The Central Bank, ‘expects a broadbased reduction of interest rates in line with ‘monetary easing policies’ carried out since 2023′,

In a little bit more from the Central Bank, “inflation is expected to rise due to the VAT increase, but is not expected to persist in the medium terms.
