The complaint filed by the woman mentioned that the abductors had dragged her into a car and then tied up her legs.

However, she had escaped to a nearby house after attacking the driver of the car and causing a motor accident.

Reportedly, the ex-husband had threatened her not to file a complaint at the police and the reason for the abduction has been his incapability to follow up the regular maintenance payments.

Police investigations have uncovered that the abducted woman, a mother of one, is maintaining a small-scale business following her divorce.

The persons responsible for the abduction are yet to be arrested, according to Sigiriya police, who are conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
