Prime Minister of Australia, Malcolm Turnbull, arrived in the country today, on an official visit.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Australian Premier is set to remain in the country for a period of two and half hours.
During his short visit, Prime Minister Turnbull will meet President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Ahead of his visit, Premier Turnbull said that this year marks the 70th anniversary of Australia’s bilateral relations with Sri Lanka, and added that he was delighted to be able to visit Sri Lanka.
With the Australian Prime Minister’s visit to Sri Lanka today, a number of roads in Colombo are set to be closed during two instances.
Thereby, the stretch near the Kelaniya bridge and the Baseline road in Borella until the D.S Senanayake junction and also the road from Horton place, and the road from Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha to Galle Face via St. Michael road in Colpetty will be closed for traffic from 7:15 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
