The United National Party has decided to move an adjournment motion in parliament over the New York Times report which alleged that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has accepted USD 7.6 million from China Harbor Merchant Company for his 2015 election campaign.
UNP MP Dr. Ashu Marasinghe has told Daily News that they will move the adjournment motion on Thursday (19).
Marasinghe also said that there was a discussion with regards to moving an adjournment motion over cases filed against former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa as well but they decided to go with the New York Times report since they are allowed only one Adjournment Motion per week.
