Lanka Data Net (LDN) and Chat2Find have collaborated to create Sri Lanka’s first intelligent AI layer for accessing public data, combining Lanka Data’s vast, structured repositories with Chat2Find’s advanced language model capabilities. By integrating high-quality datasets across legal, taxation, business, and other critical domains with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), this partnership enables precise, context-aware, and real-time information retrieval. The result is a powerful, user-friendly interface that transforms how individuals, businesses, and institutions access and interact with authoritative public data-setting a new national benchmark for transparency, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
At the core of Lanka Data Net is a commitment to accuracy, traceability, and institutional reliability. Our datasets are sourced from official publications, statutory instruments, policy documents, judicial records, economic reports, and regulatory disclosures, carefully validated and continuously updated to ensure users can rely on the information for research, analysis, compliance, and decision-making.
Building on these structured repositories, Lanka Data Net delivers an intelligent access layer powered by advanced retrieval-augmented AI models. Each dataset is paired with a dedicated domain-specific AI expert, enabling users to ask complex questions in natural language and receive precise, source-linked responses. This intelligence is seamlessly delivered through the Chat2Find LLM platform, making Lanka Data Net not just a data provider, but a practical decision-support system for professionals.

Nishan Sumanadeera – Founder Lanka Data Net (LDN)
Nishan Sumanadeera is a Sri Lankan entrepreneur, strategist, and early advocate of artificial intelligence-driven innovation in Sri Lanka. Known for combining business strategy with emerging technologies, he has been involved in initiatives aimed at bringing AI solutions into practical sectors of the economy.
His interest in artificial intelligence began as a personal passion project in 2018, when he started working as a developer using IBM Watson technologies. At a time when AI adoption in the world was limited, he focused on exploring how conversational AI could be localized for Sinhala, Tamil, and English-speaking users.
One of his most recognized milestones was the launch of Sri Lanka’s first chatbot in 2019 for the tuk-tuk industry, a pioneering effort that introduced AI into one of the country’s most widely used transport sectors.
Sumanadeera’s broader vision extended beyond chatbots. He promoted the concept of building a Sri Lankan Virtual Personality an AI system capable of understanding the country’s languages, culture, economy, laws, and social behavior. His belief was that Sri Lanka needed its own localized intelligence systems rather than depending entirely on foreign-trained models.
To support that mission, Nishan Sumanadeera began collecting and organizing Sri Lanka-related datasets across key sectors such as legal, finance, taxation, education, economics, and public information. These efforts contributed to the foundation of Lanka Data Net (LDN), a growing repository of Sri Lankan knowledge resources designed to power future AI systems.
His legacy and long-term vision later aligned with the rise of Chat2Find, a Sri Lankan AI initiative focused on developing the country’s first trilingual open-source large language model (LLM) in Sinhala, Tamil, and English. Through the combined work of Chat2Find and Lanka Data Net, the ecosystem expanded into data corpora, archived information, conversational datasets, base models, and fine-tuned language models made available through open-source platforms.
