Opposition MPs in Parliament questioned the absence of Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa. When the debate on expenditure heads of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs was taken up in Parliament today.
Chief Opposition Whip Lakshaman Kiriella pointed out the absence of subject Minister Namal Rajapaksa and inquired about the latter’s participation in the debate.
In response to the inquiry, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena informed Parliament that he was not notified by the Minister on his absence from the debate today.

The speaker informed the Parliament saying “He was unwell recently. I don’t know whether he recovered”.
