President Maithripala Sirisena signed an official notification dismissing the parliament.
The parliament election is likely to be held in early January. According to sources, the Cabinet of Ministers sworn in will serve as a caretaker government.
The Muslim members of the parliament including Rauf hakeem and Rishard Badiyudeen have been clearly left out of the ministers of Cabinet and sources says that they will be supporting Ranil Wickremasinghe.
