PM won’t reside at Temple Trees, only Flower road office

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has decided not to reside at Temple Trees, the official residence of the Prime Minister.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office said that the Prime Minister resides in his private home and performs his duties at the Prime Minister’s office at Flower Road, Colombo.

During his tenure as Prime Minister from 2015 to 2019, Ranil Wickremesinghe did not reside at Temple Trees and used Temple Trees only for official purposes.

The spokesman said that the Prime Minister would reduce his expenses significantly.

The Prime Minister recently instructed his Secretary to reduce the expenses of the Prime Minister’s Office by 50 percent.
